Designer wedding dresses tend to run a bit smaller than normal dress sizes. With this in mind, plan on ordering a size larger than you normally would wear. Your wedding dress can always be altered smaller but can not usually be altered larger. Use the size chart below as a guideline. If you are right on the edge of two sizes, order the larger. You order your gown to fit your largest measurement size. So if your bust equals a size 12, your waist a size 10 and your hips a 10, you would order the 12.

Wedding Dresses For Less recommends that you have the professional seamstress who will alter your wedding gown do your measurements. DO NOT attempt to take your own measurements. When your measurements are taken, wear a bra or bustier as you would with your dress. Allow a bit of room for your slip or petticoat.

For your bust, measure around your back and across your nipple line. For your waist, measure the smallest part of your waist. For your hips, measure around the largest part around your hip bone.
